 May 13th/2015,Washington, USA

US Military helicopter carrying 8 people on board who are 6 US marines and 2 Nepalese Army Soldiers went missing on Tuesday, during a mission in Nepal delivering aid to Nepal earth quake victims, US defense officials said on Tuesday.

However, there has been no evidence of helicopter crash. US Army Colonel Steve Warren said an Indian helicopter which is near by flying in the air heard the radio chatter which is coming from US marine helicopter  about a possible fuel problem.

Hence, due to this problem, the military helicopter carrying tarps and rice had to drop off the supplies at one place and the connection has been lost as soon as the military helicopter  en routed to another location.

US marines conducted a search for approx 90 minutes at a location where Nepalese air brigade had seen the helicopter but couldn't find any thing as it was so dark. Nepalese army soldiers are also in search of the missing US helicopter on foot.

Steve Warren said that it's because of the rugged mountainous terrain, the helicopter might have been landed in a low area where we are unable to get the beacon or the radio signal. He also added that US para-rescue forces has been rehearsed and are ready to go if needed.

The aircraft is part of Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 469, and the incident is under investigation.

There are about 300 US troops in Nepal assisting with the rescue mission, using a variety of aircraft including three Hueys, four Ospreys and several cargo planes.
